DESCRIPTION

Villa Bellezza is one of the most beautiful luxury villas and gardens in Dubrovnik, located on the site of the Renaissance summer residence of the Jordan-Sorkočević family, originally built in the 16th century. The 2000 square metre garden, with its majestic central walking path and original 16th century columns, gives Villa Bellezza a special charm.  

The garden is filled with exotic Mediterranean plants, including shady hundred-year-old pines, cypress, bay laurel, oleander, myrtle, rosemary, lavender, Canary palms, figs, lemons, wild oranges and grapefruit and many others.

The capital of each column is decorated with carvings in a variety of floral motifs, and bear witness to the importance of landscape architecture of the Renaissance period.  Villa Bellezza, a luxury villa, with its unique and spacious garden, is an ideal place for relaxing and enjoying, surrounded by high walls which have ensured its residents peace and privacy since the 16th century.

During the age of the Dubrovnik Republic, summer residences were centres of social life, relaxation and enjoyment. This particular home was known for the artistic and intellectual conversations about love and beauty which the Dubrovnik nobility often held in these beautiful gardens, which have been preserved to this day in nearly their original condition. The spirit of true Renaissance beauty - Bellezza – inspired this villa's current name.

Although the summer residence was almost completely destroyed in the 19th century, the current owners have recently renovated it completely, following the highest standards of historic conservation, to create a luxury villa and garden in Dubrovnik, which is among the protected cultural artefacts of the Republic of Croatia.  

Villa Bellezza stretches over 120 square meters of Mediterranean style, a perfect combination of luxury and tradition. The centre of this luxurious Dubrovnik villa is the spacious living room and dining room which offers a stunning view of the terrace and gardens. The warm Dubrovnik colours of Bordeaux and beige predominate in this part of the villa, with its antique furniture and paintings by well-known Dubrovnik artists such as Josip Trostman, modern painters and younger artists. The 50-year-old Danish chandelier, designer figurines, and antique telephones give the villa a special charm.

Adjoining the living room is a fully equipped kitchen with a bar.

The ground floor of the villa also contains a bathroom with a tub and separate toilet. A wooden staircase leads up to two beautiful double bedrooms on the first floor, with handmade furniture, in predominantly mild brown and beige tones.  This luxury villa in Dubrovnik is an ideal holiday location for 6 persons.
At the entrance to the garden is a barely visible carved inscription in Latin, which is believed to date from the 16th century: “Be gone from me, jealousy, quarrels, arrogance, and worry.” (ESTE PROCUL LIVOR, LITES, AMBITIO CURARE). We can conclude that the owner of this villa truly enjoyed his paradise.

LOCATION

The luxurious Villa Bellezza is located on the Lapad shoreline, not far from the Hotel Kazbek, just three kilometres from the historic Old Town of Dubrovnik. The old town is about 15 minutes ride by car or public bus, and a station is located near the villa. In front of the villa is a marina, from which we can arrange sailing, diving, snorkelling, and sightseeing excursions to the Elafiti Islands and other locations. The villa is located close to popular seaside walking paths, and several beautiful beaches are located within 300 metres of the villa.

The Uvala Lapad walking promenade, with its many small family restaurants, cafes, and a shopping centre, is located near the villa. A well known fish restaurant, at the Orsan yacht club, is also nearby.

Villa Bellezza is located 22 kilometres from the Dubrovnik airport.

WEDDINGS AND SPECIAL EVENTS

The beautiful Mediterranean and exotic gardens of Villa Bellezza Dubrovnik, preserved nearly in their original condition since the 16th century, make this luxurious villa the perfect setting for special events. During the age of the Dubrovnik Republic, many performances, concerts and intellectual gatherings were held here in this garden. Today, the gardens of Villa Bellezza are one of the most beautiful locations in Dubrovnik for weddings, anniversary celebrations, exclusive receptions and other special events.  

The hundred-year-old orange, lemon, bay laurel, myrtle, cypress and palm trees create a special natural setting, the perfect stage for your special occasion.

Banquets can be organized in the interior and outdoor areas of Villa Bellezza Dubrovnik. The interior space can seat 12 guests for dinner or 20 guests for a standing cocktail reception. The lovely outdoor terrace and gardens can accommodate and additional 20 seated guests, or 40 guests for a cocktail reception.
